LASER VAGINAL TIGHTENING - LVT For decades the laser systems have been used in various medical specialties. There are new techniques for use in the area of cosmetic gynecology. Laser Vaginal Tightening , is a non-surgical medical procedure that uses the thermal effect of light laser to collapse the epithelium (vaginal mucosa) Collagen fibers, and thus create a decrease in diameter and vaginal length, producing a tightening effect. This effect is called Laser vaginal rejuvenation or tightening without surgery. Our technology uses the Erbium Laser instead of the CO2 like the Mona Lisa Touch, the diVa Vaginal Therapy, or the FemiLift. The advantages of using Erbium Laser over the CO2 laser are: More comfortable treatment, no burning sensation, quicker healing, better results, and the capability of doing a more aggressive treatment with no risk of burning or damaging the tissues.
With aging, the skin decreases the concentration of collagen and elastin, together with the decrease in levels of estrogen the mucous membranes lose elasticity, producing relaxation, requiring cosmetic treatments to improve this condition. Births by labor is another factor contributing to the loss of elasticity. The pass of the baby by the vaginal canal, stretches and breaks many fibers causing relaxation. Sexual intercourse can also give a more relaxed vagina as a result of frequent use or partners with large members, causing the vaginal cavity to increase in size.
Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome (VRS) is the loss of the optimum structural architecture of the vagina. This process is generally associated with natural aging and is specially affected by childbirth. The vaginal muscles become relaxed with poor tone, strength, control and support. This condition, called vaginal relaxation, frequently leads to decreased feelings of friction and loss of sexual satisfaction by the patient. Surgical vaginal tightening procedures include many risks.
Thanks to the precision and effectiveness of the Fotona YAG ERBIUM laser on the vaginal tissue, you can reduce the diameter of the vagina, producing an immediate result and increasing intimate pleasure. The results are better than the FemiLift, diVa Vaginal Therapy and Mona Lisa Touch that use CO2 laser instead of the Erbium YAG. It's a simple, fully ambulatory procedure that does not cut tissue, produces no discomfort during or after treatment and requires no recovery . The procedure takes 10 to 15 minutes and does not require any type of anesthesia. It also helps to reduce the symptoms of the stress urinary incontinence.

What is laser vaginal tightening?
It is an outpatient procedure that involves applying heat generated by a laser to the vaginal mucosa and vulva to improve the quality and amount of collagen on the tissues. The laser is common in aesthetic and cosmetic medicine and is used in treatments to improve stretch marks, wrinkles, scars and dark spots; it is a laser to rejuvenate any type of tissue. This technique was developed 15 years ago and it is used in more than 50 countries around the world because it has demonstrated true benefits in all patients.
How is the procedure?
The procedure is technically very simple, the patient is evaluated by a doctor in the office and after applying an anesthetic gel in the vaginal area a speculum is introduced through which will allow the laser to work and not generate any discomfort for the patient. The session has duration of 25 to 35 minutes, has no risk and/or any complications, and patients can return immediately to their daily activities.
What benefits can be expected from this treatment?
The benefits are many. Vaginal lubrication improves as well as the tone of the vaginal walls, which with the natural process and the deterioration of aging or after pregnancy and childbirth are affected. With age women experience a relaxation of the muscles of the vaginal walls, this treatment will improve a better sexual stimulation and orgasm. Also, it is indicated in patients who suffer from involuntary loss of urine (Urinary Incontinence).
Is there any risk of getting this procedure?
Actually there are no absolute risks in this technique because the laser is light and the light only generates heat and that has no contraindication. Of course, we cannot do this treatment to patients who have vaginal infections, have discharge that has not been treated, or who have bleeding of any kind, either menstrual or uterine bleeding not yet diagnosed, and, when there are any diseases in the lower genital tract. We also rule out pregnant patients for obvious reasons.
How many laser sessions are required to complete the treatment?
It is indicated to do two (2) initial sessions spaced by a 3 weeks and then make a maintenance session per year for young patients; it is worth mentioning that the young patient who is still in the fertile stage of life, one session per year is fine. If the patient is already postmenopausal sometimes two sessions per year may be required to maintain the results of better lubrication, better control of urinary problems, and improve their sexual relations.
